With the temperatures going into the 50’s and snow still being on many roofs, water damage is becoming a regular incident. This picture shows a kitchen where water seeped through the roof and went through the drywall, not only destroying the ceiling and wall, but also the cabinet. The leak went unnoticed for several hours while the home owners were at work and came home to find a partial collapse in the ceiling and two flooded cabinets. Incidents like this will be more likely during the next couple of days with temperatures hitting or exceeding 60 degrees and heavy rain expected. Be sure to clear all gutters and downspouts so water runs freely, otherwise blockage will cause backups as was the case with this home.
